India
Spinal Surgery Patient's Testimonials I found out that I needed an operation for a back problem which was causing
severe pain to my left leg from the sciatic nerve. After speaking to my
GP and realizing I was getting nowhere I decided to take the matter into
my own hands as I could hardly walk. After speaking to private consultants
and realizing that without private medical insurance I was not going to
be seen to in this country without shelling out around £20,000 I
decided to look elsewhere. I decided to look into having the operation
privately in India and was fortunate to come across Mediescapes India.
From my initial enquiry when I e-mailed my MRI results to Mediescapes
India I was amazed at rapid replies to my e mails and within 3 weeks was
in India having the operation done. My back has been great ever since
and I can not thank Mediescapes India enough for the attention given to
me and my brother during our stay in India , no matter what our requests
were . The hospital was incredible and again the attention given was second
to none. As for cost I did the whole trip with first class flights, family
run guest house accommodation, medical treatment and Incidentals for less
than a quarter of the cost of the operation in England. I can recommend
going to India for medical treatment highly enough. I wouldn't hesitate
to go back If I had the need for more medical treatment. Mr. Michael Nick Duren, (American Patient on his L4-5 Disc Herniation with Surgical Discectomy surgery / treatment in India) Hi Mediescapes India, this is Nick and DJ in the OL, USA, wondering how you guys are doing? We survived the flight back and I think it was worst than the operation. We want to thank you guys on the wonderful job you did hauling us around and being the great hosts that you were. Happy Holidays to you all, and 2006 is going to be a great year for all of us. My back is still doing great. Mrs. Lillian Owen. (British Patient for her Lumbar Recalibration at L4/5 level back surgery in India) For several years before treatment I had recurring lower back pain. At that time I was quite active. In the summer of 2005 this became more severe and constant, so that I had to almost stop leading an active lifestyle. Suddenly, one morning I woke up with excruciating pain and I noticed pain in my left leg all the way down to my toes, which were also becoming numb and partially paralyzed.. I decided to see my family doctor at once who requested MRI's and examined me. He told me I would most likely need surgery. With MRI's in hand I decided to get a second opinion with a neurologist for an expert diagnosis. since I am not much familiar with Internet / Emails my daughter searched the Internet and chance happen to explore services of Mediescapes India whom she contacted for me and as per their request sent all my medical reports by courier for their board certified spinal consultant to study and recommend the best options available for me. The neurologist’s diagnosis confirmed that I had a severely ruptured L4/5 disc, which would urgently require surgery as the S1and sciatic nerves were greatly impaired and could suffer permanent damage if not operated. I was referred to Dr. Harsh Bhargava in Apollo Hospital to perform this neurosurgery either by standard or less invasive endoscopic procedure. Dr. Bhargava responded extremely rapidly. He examined my back together with a fresh MRI's, CT Scans and X-rays taken in New Delhi and concluded that there was too much loose material from the ruptured disc in order to perform an endoscopic procedure. Although he was fully booked for several months, he went out of his way to schedule and perform a lumber recalibration on me. The procedure went very smoothly and the treatment at the surgery center was top-notch. After a two and half hour operation and within 24 hours I was recuperating at the service apartment recommended for my stay by Mediescapes India. Dr. Bhargava was kind enough to visit me at the service apartment and also referred me to one of the best physical therapists in the area where I had around 10 sessions. Both Dr. Bhargava and the therapist told me that the key to a quick and total recovery would be to continue the stretching and back exercise program prescribed to me by the therapist incl. regular walking. I have followed this program rigorously, which is the most difficult part of the whole recuperation.. Today 3 months after the surgery I feel no pain and stiffness is gradually going away. I would say that I am at 90+%of the flexibility I had before the entire thing started. I am regularly doing my stretching / exercise regimen’ probably forever to continue maintaining strong back muscles. I learned that if I slough off, the nerves and back pain can flair up. I am grateful for Mediescapes India's teams professionalism and gentleness incl. their well trained team of board certified doctors, nurses and nursing staff of Apollo Hospitals, CA and to the lovely Indian family who looked after my each and every small details while I was staying in their palatial home and they all helped me regain a pain free life. The medical treatment I received was first class indeed. |
